From I-64 East, exit 250B to rte 105. Turn left on rte 143. Newport News Visitor Center on the right next to Newport News Park entrance.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Newport News Visitor Center, Park and Campsite are all located on Newport News Park property which has boating facilities, nature trails, walking and picnic areas and an indoor discovery center.
PARKING: Right outside on left of visitor center. 2 designated accessible parking spaces, each 10 ft. wide. Accessible aisle 5 ft. wide. Ramps are well marked. RV parking.
ENTRANCE: At front of building. Automatic doors open out.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: On the left upon entering. Doors 36 in. wide, open in. No turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 34 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, and 15 in. between commode and wall. Wrapped pipes. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions. Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.
PUBLIC TELEPHONE: On left front wall upon entering. Lowered phones.

Special guide book available for guests with disabilities.
Guests with visual disabilities: Signs in large print, with sharp contrast to background color, printed on non-glossy surface.
GIFT SHOP: Counters 46 in. high. Aisles clear of temporary displays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Accepted credit cards: V and MC. No admission fee and open 7 days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM.
