From I-64E, use exit 247.  Left on Rte 143 (Jefferson Ave.)  Right at stoplight at Yorktown road. (Rte 238).  Lee Hall is 1/4 mile on the right.  From I-64W, use exit 247.  Left on Rte 238 (Yorktown road).  Lee Hall is 1/4 mile on the right.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Lee Hall Mansion is an Italianate mansion constructed circa 1850 by wealthy planter Richard Decauter Lee. Now restored to its pre-Civil War splendor, the home served as a Confederate headquarters during the 1862 Peninsula Campaign. Confederate Generals Magruder and Johnston planned and executed the  defense of the Warwick River Line during the initial stages of the Peninsula Campaign. Guided tours. Peninsula Campaign exhibit gallery featuring Monitor artifacts, drawings, sidearms and presentation firearms. Gift shop.  

PARKING:  Located back of mansion.  Open hard-packed rock lot.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Hard packed dirt, rock, brick paths. Paths accessible for persons with mobility disabilities, but steep grades may require assistance for guests in wheelchairs.  Length of paths 300 ft.

ENTRANCE:  Located back of mansion.  1 entry door, 31 in. wide.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located 1st floor at entrance.  Doors 35 in. wide, open out.  No turns to enter.   Stalls have doors 31 in. wide, and handrails.  19 in. toilet seat height.  Sink height 35 in.  Wrapped pipes.  Stalls checked regularly for obstructions.  Rest rooms are identified by a raised figure with pants or skirt on door to designate men or women.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing disabilities, signing interpreters are available with advance notice. 

For guests with visual disabilities, signs with contrasting background are printed on a non-glossy surface.

GIFT SHOP:  Open area, glass displays.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  15 steps from 1st to 2nd floor (stairlift available).  21 steps from 2nd to 3rd floor - not wheelchair accessible.
