Irvington, a small town in Lancaster County, is located on a peninsula of land known as the Northern Neck. It is known across the United States as the home of the marine resort The Tides Inn.

Close to Irvington is Hitoric Christ Church is the best-preserved and most finely crafted of colonial Virginia's Anglican parish churches. It was built by Robert "King" Carter, colonial Virginia's most powerful planter.

A short drive away is Belle Isle State Park where visitors explore a wide variety of tidal wetlands that you explore by renting bicycles, canoes and motorboats. There is also a universal access playground, boardwalk and fishing pier.
