GENERAL DESCRIPTION: With 733 acres, seven miles of shoreline on the Northern Neck’s Rappahannock River, and access to Mulberry and Deep creeks, Belle Isle lets visitors explore a wide variety of tidal wetlands interspersed with agricultural fields and upland forests. Belle Isle has three picnic shelters, hiking, biking and bridle trails, motor boat and car-top launch. The park also offers bicycle, canoe and motorboat rentals, a universal access playground, boardwalk and fishing pier and educational programs.

PARKING:  All parking lots have 2 designated accessible parking spaces.  Parking space 10 ft. wide.  Accessible aisle 5 ft. wide.  Nearby ramps are well marked.  RV parking in 2 lots.  No overnight parking.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND PARK/ATTRACTION:  Short concrete paths to restrooms and picnic shelters.  No steep grades which would require assistance for persons in wheelchairs. 

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  At picnic area and boat ramp.  Available without steps.  Doors are 36 in. wide, open out.  Turns to enter.  Accessible stalls have 40 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails.  19  in. toilet seat height.  Wrapped pipes.  Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.

PICNIC AREAS:   Tables located in picnic shelters and on the grounds.  36 in. aisles between the tables.  Paths to and within the picnic areas are concrete.  Covered shelters.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 1,000-foot boardwalk with observation deck is accessible, as is the fishing pier. Park office and camp store are accessible.
