Located at the corner of Main and Church Streets.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: History museum housed in the former Bank of Smithfield, built in 1913. Interpreting local history, the museum's exhibits include prehistoric fossils, Native American and Colonial artifacts, a country store and the museum's most notable artifact - the world's oldest, edible cured ham. The 1902 pork product exemplifies the patented Smithfield curing process.

PARKING: Located adjacent to museum.
TYPES OF PATHS: Paved parking lot belonging to bank has some incline. Level sidewalk to accessible entrance.
ENTRANCE: Glass entry doors open out with clearly marked brass handle. Handrails.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: Doors open in. Turns to enter. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions. Rest rooms are identified by a raised figure with pants or skirt on door to designate men or women. Unisex and/or companion assisted rest room available at the public rest room.
SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with mobility disabilities, there are ramps where needed.
For guests with visual disabilities, there are documents in large print on non-glossy surface.
GIFT SHOP: Clerks assist customers with special needs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: No admission fee. Open 10-4 Tu-Sat and 1-5 Sun.
