I-64 East to exit 265.  Lasalle to Victoria turn left - parking lot on left next to library.  I-64 West, exit 265, take Lasalle to Victoria, turn left.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Charles H. Taylor Arts Center is one of the most familiar sites in downtown Hampton. Built in 1925 the building served as Hampton's public library for over 60 years. After careful renovation and restoration, the building now presents changing exhibitions of the best of local, regional, and national artists, as well as classes for children and adults.

PARKING:  2 wheelchair accessible parking spaces at side of bldg.  

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  33 ft. sidewalk. 

ENTRANCE:  Off of parking lot.  Portable ramps.  1 entry door, 32 in. wide, easily opens out with pull handle.  5 steps in lobby, each 6 in. high.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Off lobby.  Doors 33 in. wide, open out.  Turns to enter.  Handrails.  38 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 32 in.  Wrapped pipes.

PUBLIC TELEPHONE:  Wheelchair accessible phone on outside  of building. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  V and MC accepted for classes.  Hours: Closed Mon. Tu-Fri 10AM-6PM, 1PM-5PM weekends.   Free admission.   Gift shop located at library across parking lot
