BOYKINS MUSEUM                 757-654-9550                          31584 North Main Street, Boykins, VA  23827                    
From highway 58, take route 35 South into Boykins.  Museum is on right as you enter town.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Since 1982, Boykins Train Depot (built 1840).  Now houses a country store, Dentist, barber’s office, and train dispatch office.  Toy trains, real caboose, gas powered farm equipment and antique autos.  Museum is privately owned.   Wheelchair/scooters cannot get into the depot.  All other exhibits are viewable.

PARKING:  Dirt yard can hold about 10 cars.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Compacted dirt, grass and gravel.  Paths 50-100 ft to the grounds.

ENTRANCE:  In general store.  2 exterior steps, each 8 in. high.  1 entry door, 33 in. wide, easily opens in with round handle located 36 in. above floor.  Antique cars are in garage with cement floor.  Door is 33 in. wide and opens out.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  No public restrooms.  Gas station across the street.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities, there are signs printed on a non-glossy surface.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  No admittance fee, but donations are appreciated.  Open Mon-Fri 9-5:30 - call to confirm.  One man operation.  Interesting collection of artifacts, cars, equipment and train “stuff”.
