DIRECTIONS: Directions: I-81, US 23/I-81 North into Virginia, Rte 23 north 15 miles to turn off, State rte 871 into park.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Offers environmental education, conference facilities and overnight dorm accommodations.
PARKING: 2 designated accessible parking spaces located in center parking lot. Parking space 11 ft. wide. Accessible aisle 3 ft. wide. Nearby ramps well marked.
ENTRANCE: Front entrance ramped for access. 4 exterior steps, each 6 in. high. Handrails on left/right. 1 entry door easily opens out with lever handle located 36 in. above floor.
FACILITIES: Lowered drinking fountains. Luggage handling available. Signage printed in contrasting colors with raised letters. Non-smoking rooms available.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: Located in lobby of Center. Available without steps. Doors 34 in. wide, open out. Turns to enter. Accessible stalls have 36 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, 35 in. between commode and wall. Sink height 36 in. Wrapped pipes. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions. Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men or women.
PUBLIC TELEPHONE: Wheelchair accessible phone in reception area, on outside breezeway, all on one level. Amplified headsets.
ACCOMMODATIONS: 12 wheelchair accessible rooms, located in dormitory. 2 bunks bed per room, the bottom is accessible. Bed on a frame with no obstruction beneath. Unnecessary furniture removed upon request. 60 inch circular clearspace in room and in bathroom. Roll-in showers. Hand held shower heads. Handrail with the toilet. 19 in. toilet seat height. Wheelchair can be parked beside the toilet for a lateral transfer (32 in. min.) Room numbers with braille and raised markings. Lever handles on doors. Lowered light switches.
