DIRETIONS: I-64, Exit 94 on U. S. Rte 340 in Waynesboro, VA. Located approximately two blocks south (left) from Exit 94 on U.S. 340  at 150  P. Buckley Moss Drive in Waynesboro, Virginia.  (For GPS purposes you may want to use Town Center Drive or put in the word “Museum”).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The P. Buckley Moss Museum is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Waynesboro, Virginia. Closely resembling many of the larger houses built by early 19th century settlers, it is an appropriate setting for exhibiting works by P. Buckley Moss, one of America's most recognized and most popular artists.

Since the early 1960's, Moss has found her inspiration and much of her subject matter in the Valley scenery and in the Amish and Mennonite peoples of the area. She considers the example of the lifestyles of these traditional "Plain People" to hold an important message for modern society. The Museum reflects in its exhibitions and programs a similar concern for this cultural and environmental heritage

PARKING: 2 wheelchair accessible parking spaces.

TYPES OF PATHS:  The paths are brick with no steep grades.

ENTRANCE:  Front of building.  Entry doors, 36 in. wide, easily open out with thumb bolt handle located 34 in. above floor.  Marked with tactile strip/color change.  Handrails.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  On all floors. Turns to enter.  Accessible stalls have 36 in. wide doors and handrails.  Wheelchair accessible toilet is 19 inches high with room for a lateral transfer.  Sink height 33 in., pipes wrapped.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Rest rooms are identified by a raised figure with pants or skirt on door to designate men or women.

ELEVATOR:   Wheelchair accessible elevator with sound indicator.  Interior of car is 68 in. by 51 in.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities, there are audio cassettes and portable tape recorders.  Also, headphone exhibits, video displays and documents in large print on non-glossy surface.     

GIFT SHOP:  Clerks assist customers with special needs.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Accepted credit cards: V, MC and AE.  Hours: Mon–Sat 10 to 5, Sun 12:30 pm to 5 pm  Free admission.
