GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Renowned live professional theatre located in Historic Northern Shenandoah Valley. It is the Second oldest professional theatre in Virginia. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, Wayside Theatre brings Broadway to the Blue Ridge in an intimate theatre presenting exciting live Equity Professional Theatre. A 47-year history of producing a wide range comedies, dramas, mysteries and musicals at affordable prices.
PARKING: 1 designated accessible parking space, one block from theatre, parallel parking . Nearby ramps well marked.
TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION: Sidewalk accessible to persons with mobility impairments. Grades may require assistance for persons in wheelchairs. Paths 1 block long.
ENTRANCE: Located front of building facing street. Ramps provided. 2 glass entry doors, 32 in. wide, easily open out with metal handles, clearly marked in contrasting color, located 34 in. above floor. Steps located to left side of balcony. Each step 8 in. high. Handrails.
PUBLIC REST ROOMS: Located to right and left of lobby. Available without steps. Doors 35 in. wide, open out. Turns to enter. Wheelchair accessible stalls have 33 in. wide doors opening out, and handrails. 19 in. toilet seat height, 11 in. between commode and wall. Sink height 35 in. Wrapped pipes. Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions. Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available. MENS REST ROOM NOT ACCESSIBLE.
SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing impairments: Signing interpreters for 2 performances each show. Call for dates.
For guests with visual impairments: Signs in large print, with contrasting background, printed on a non-glossy surface. Increased wattage lighting in dining areas.
For guests with mobility impairments: Guests can be placed up front. Aisle in theatre is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs placed in H row.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE FACILITIES: Outside to building on left. Unisex bathroom with accessible 22 in. door. Snacks, cola and wine only. Tables located to the right of the counter. Table height 28 - 30 in. Aisles between tables 32 - 36 in. wide. T-shirts, notecards and mugs available in the corner of the pub.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Admission depends on show. Season $23-$25 per ticket. Show times: Wed-Sat eve 7:30 PM, Winter season and Sun 6:30 PM. Various weekday matinees. Call for additional show times. Non-smoking areas available.
