DIRECTIONS: Watch for George C. Marshall museum signs at Lexington exits 188W, 191 and 195 off I-81; and exits 50 and 55 off I-64.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The George C. Marshall Museum and Research Library profiles one of the 20th Century's greatest military and diplomatic leaders. The museum contains a variety of exhibits related to the Marshall Era (1880-1960) - Marshall's Nobel Peace Prize Medal, and an Academy Award trophy (for the movie "Patton"). As U.S. Army Chief of Staff during WWII, Winston Churchill called Marshall "The Organizer of Victory." The post-WWII European Recovery Program (The Marshall Plan) was developed while Marshall was Secretary of State, and resulted in his winning the 1953 Nobel Prize for Peace.

PARKING:  Accessible parking on right side of  museum.  2 spaces, each 7 ft. wide, with accessible aisle 5 ft. wide.  Ramps well marked.  RV parking.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Flat sidewalk,  accessible to persons with mobility disabilities.

ENTRANCE:  Located right side near ramp.  Automatic doors, 36 in. wide, open out.  Entrance for persons with mobility disabilities is at the rear of museum, and has buzzer 47 in. above floor to call for assistance.  36 in. wide door easily opens out with lever handle.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  1st floor, near elevators, 15 ft. from entrance.  Doors 60 in. wide, open in.  No turns to enter.  Single accessible stall w/ handrails.  19 in. toilet seat height, 10 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 34 in.  Wrapped pipes.  Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available.

ELEVATOR:  Across from restroom.  Serves all levels.  Door width 42 in.  Control buttons 61 in. high.

GIFT SHOP:  Aisles 60 in. wide.  Counters 35 in. high.  Aisles clear of temporary displays.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Accepted credit cards: V, AE and  MC.  Admission fee  Hours:  Mon-Sun 9-5  Museum closes one hour early Nov. 1 - Mar 1, and is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
