DIRECTIONS: Via George Washington Parkway, Exit Key Bridge, left at Fort Meyer Drive, stay in center lane, after under pass Fort Meyer Drive becomes Meade Street; from Meade turn left onto Marshall Drive to park entrance.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Memorial honors all Marines who have lost their lives in service to the country since 1775; while the statue depicts one of the most famous Marine WWII incidents-the raising of the flag at Mount Suribachi on the island of Iwo Jima.

Marine Corps Sunset Parades featuring the Drum and Bugle Corp and the Silent Drill Team are held Tuesday evenings, May through August, and are free.

PARKING:  3 wheelchair accessible parking spaces.  RV parking.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Asphalt.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  420 ft. from Memorial, restroom is a chemical toilet.  Doors are 31 in. wide, and open out.   Handrails.  18 in. between commode and wall.  Checked regularly for obstructions.   Rest rooms are identified by a raised figure with pants or skirt on door to designate men or women.  Unisex and/or companion assisted rest room available at the public rest room.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with hearing disabilities, there are signing interpreters available with advance notice, by reservation only. 

For guests with visual disabilities, there aresigns in large print, with contrasting background, printed on a non-glossy surface.

For guests with mobility disabilities, there is a lowered drinking fountain.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Free admission.  All tours are by reservation only.
