GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Exhibits relating to African American history in Lynchburg and central Virginia.

PARKING:  2 designated accessible parking spaces, located rear of building.  Nearby ramps well marked.  RV parking.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Paths accessible to persons with mobility impairments.

ENTRANCE:   Ramps provided.  1 entry door, 36 in. wide, easily opens in with lever type handle.

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located 1st floor.  Available without steps. Doors 36 in. wide, open out.  No turns to enter. 19 in. toilet seat height, 12 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 35 in.  Wrapped pipes.  Accessible stall checked regularly for obstructions.  Unisex or companion assisted rest rooms available.  Rest rooms identified by raised figures with pants or skirt on the door to designate men.

SPECIAL SERVICES:

For guests with visual disabilities:  Increased wattage lighting in exhibit areas.
