THE ROARING TWENTIES ANTIQUE CAR MUSEUM

DIRECTIONS: From DC-Rte 29S to Rte 230W, from Charlottesville-29N to Rte 33W to Rte 230.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  Large collection of antique cars, trucks, farm equipment, tools, and other memorabilia, including Civil War era to present, china, glassware, signs and printed materials. The museum is off the beaten path but well worth a trip for the car enthusiast.

The museum features 32 vintage cars on display along with Stationary Engines, Horse-Drawn Equipment, Old Farm Tools, Period Advertising and a myriad of relics. The exhibit presents the preservation of many once-everyday items whose purpose and meanings were almost forgotten as the race towards progress rendered them obsolete - things many people wouldn't have thought to save.

PARKING:  Large level graveled parking lot.

TYPES OF PATHS TO OR AROUND ATTRACTION:  Some concrete floor, and some gravel paths.  Persons in wheelchairs may need assistance on the gravel paths.

ENTRANCE:  1 exterior step, 2 in. high at entry.  2 entry doors, 38 in. wide, easily open in and out with strap/knob handle located 35 in. above floor. 

PUBLIC REST ROOMS:  Located in rear of building.  One 4 in. step to restrooms.  Doors 30 in. wide, open in.  Turns to enter.  18 in. toilet seat height, 12 in. between commode and wall.  Sink height 24 in. Rest rooms are identified by a raised figure with pants or skirt on door to designate men or women. 

PUBLIC TELEPHONE:  No public phone.  Phone in office for emergency use.

SPECIAL SERVICES:
For guests with visual disabilities,  there are documents in large print on non-glossy surface.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  Open most days 8-12.  Best to call ahead.  Admission fee.
